Personal Retreat

Waiting upon the Lord

The American Heritage Dictionary provides the following explanations for the word retreat:

  • A quiet, private and safe place

  • A refuge

  • The act of withdrawal

  • A time of seclusion or silence.

A retreat therefore offers people the opportunity to get away from the demands of ordinary life by going to a quiet place where they can meet God. It offers the quietness, solitude and peacefulness in which we can get closer to the only living Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Jesus says in Mark 6:31 "As for you come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while, for many were coming and going and they had not even leisure enough to eat."

Although there are many reasons why people visit retreats, the mutual factor is always sincere love for God and the need to love, serve and learn more about God on a deeper level.

Each time, before you intercede, be quiet first, and worship God in His glory. Think of what He can do, and how He delights to hear the prayers of His redeemed people. Think of your place and privilege in Christ, and expect great things!

Our staff can assist in this process and from time to time we offer guided processes.  Let us know of your needs and interest, so that we can keep you informed about scheduled interventions.

Be still and know that I am God ...
